I didn't notice that graffiti, Amy. I saw the Croatoan graffiti, but I missed that one. Maybe it means that Zach created a new future that doesn't exist in the hopes of convincing Dean to let Michael use him as his vessel in much the same way he doctored Dean's phone message to Sam in LuR. _________________

It certainly is curious. Idk if that was a hint for Dean or for us. I didn't see it, but I'll be sure to try again when I watch now that Minnow has pointed it out.
Right, Dean has learned his lesson I think. He'll tell Zach to kiss off every time. _________________ ~Amy~

Okay, Minnow on the CW noticed this and I had to bring the post over. Did anyone else catch it?
Hi guys!
I'm not sure if this has been spotted yet, but there is graffiti on the wall when Dean is walking toward the little girl at the start of the episode (about 6:44 in, right side of screen).
It clearly says:
NEVER HAPPENED
Is it a clue? Or just a huge coincidence?
I went absolutely trying to find that on my DVR recording ... and its not there, likely because though I watch in HD I don't record in HD. BUT I also buy Amazon Unbox downloads and it's definitely on the wall as Dean approaches the girl. All I can think of is the HD version is "wider screen" than the non-HD. You have to use your imagination (or back away from the screen) to see the "Never" but I can see most of the "Happened".
I think that this "future" NEVER HAPPENED, either, or Zach would have taken Dean to Michael for further convincing instead of "teaching him another lesson" because he thought he had Dean in "captivity" and by manipulating time again and again, with each possible future being worse than the last one, Zach would eventually drive Dean into the same sense of hopelessness that Lucifer will try - again - with Sam.
But whether this "Future" is real, or just a zillion probabilities of being real, or a total construct of Zach's, Dean still can't take the chance that it's a possibly "true glimpse" into his future brutal self without Sam, and that Sam needs him, too. So they can resist becoming "Monsters" together. _________________ Exquisite banners and Avi by Fandrea

Great parallel, Jacklebug . _________________ Exquisite banners and Avi by Fandrea

Thanks SciFi.
I think Dean was right and wrong when he said that they shouldn't be together. He was right in the sense that the bad guys do know they are each other's weaknesses and will do whatever they can to manipulated them by playing them off against each other. But he was wrong in the sense that they are stronger together, not weaker like he believes. When they were apart they were able to manage without each other, but there was something missing. Whether either of them is willing to admit or not, they missed each other. They are two halves that work better when they are joined together than when they are separated. _________________

Someone really needs to ask EK just what that meant. There are so many ways it could have gone. We only have Zach's word it was real and we know he's not the most truthful guy around. But like Scifi said it could be a possible future out of many. Kinda like that show Sliders, where they'd jump into these alternate worlds. _________________ ~Amy~

Exactly. It's a paradoxical situation that while they know they are each others' weakness they have a synergy that is additive when they are together making them stronger than when they are operating as individuals.
It probably doesn't matter if the "Future" was real or not; what matters is the lessons that Dean learned his "trip" - that is boiled down to what Dean said in the Green Room while ranting at Castiel - the most important thing in this world is family and people - not Heaven or Hell. "Jimmy" came to the same realization in The Rapture.
I believe that's what it's going to take to end the apocalypse - believing in Family over Fate. _________________ Exquisite banners and Avi by Fandrea
